Timber Trespass
In Washington, we value our trees. They have environmental value, commercial value, and many times sentimental and emotional value to the people who own them. That is why Washington has strict laws prohibiting the unlawful cutting or removal of trees that belong to someone else—commonly known as “timber trespass.” Our laws also penalize those who unlawfully cut down or remove trees with increased monetary damages, which may range from simple replacement costs, to complex restoration of damaged land, to mental and emotional distress. Even boundary trees – a tree shared due to location on a property line – are protected.
If you have had your tree or trees unlawfully cut down or injured by someone else, we would be pleased to offer a free consult to help determine your potential damages, and if legal action is a potential solution.
